Scopa is a proprietary label of Pinot Grigio made through a collaboration of Botter with Coeur Wine Co. Botter is a winemaking family with a long history in the Veneto. Carlo Botter started the business 1928 by selling barrels and demijohns of local Veneto wines. After World War Two, brothers Arnaldo and Enzo began selling wine in bottles. Today Botter is run by Carlo’s great grandchildren, winemakers Luca, Annalisa and Alessandro.

Varietal: Pinot Grigio
100% Pinot Grigio. Harvested at cool temperatures, crushed and pressed. Fermented at low temperature in stainless steel (15-17 C) for 8-12 days. Aged in steel for 3 months before bottling.
100% Sangiovese. Sourced from a 2.5 ha vineyard in Scandicci, a comune in the hills south of Florence. Soil- clay mixed with sand over limestone. Vine Age- planted in 2001. Altitude- 250 meter. Grapes are de-stemmed and soft crushed, with very careful remontage in the early stage of fermentation for best extraction of color and soft tannins. Fermentation is in stainless steel at a controlled temperature not exceeding 26-28°C. Aged for an additional 6 months post fermentation in stainless steel.
