we’re alsooooo really tickled to be teaming up with our old friends @vinegarhillhouse to present a Catalan food/beer/wine dinner — a special one-night only celebration of one of our favorite culinary and beverage corners of the world ✨

@smeltzmonger and @suqaroq will be on hand doing pairings and storytelling and probably a porrón or two also 😎

tickets are available on the VHH website, but go quick! they’re moving fast 🪩

We’re excited to share that next week on Monday
We’re excited to share that next week on Monday 3/27, we’ve teamed up with the fine crew at Chez Ma Tante to host one of our favorite young domaines from the Roussillon, François-Xavier Dauré of @domainelampyres. FX will be in house all night to chat with guests and drinkers and share a bit about his lovely work in the windswept valley village of Espira de l’Agly. These are buoyant, striking wines that speak of the seriousness of the eastern Roussillon territory, and we’re really proud to be sharing them BTG for one night only with @chez_ma_tante’s terrific menu.

See you there!! 🐞🍂🛻

Tasting with Marc Soyard in the cellar of Domaine
Tasting with Marc Soyard in the cellar of Domaine de la Cras is a revelation. Each barrel, whether of Pinot or Chardonnay (or others!), seems saturated with energy and light, a certain buoyancy. We were really blown away by this visit — in what could be considered humble terroir just outside of the city of Dijon — proof positive that appellation and fame aren’t everything, while vineyard and cellar work are.

Thanks so much, @domainedelacras, we’re very touched by these wines and their fineness, clarity, and simplicity. We get just a tiny allocation of these wines each year—do not miss them on the very rare occasion we have them!

We’re honored to be working with the Dancer family and are thrilled to introduce the new wines from @theodancerr 🔥 This is a stunning set of wines that allows Théo the chance to work with grapes from outside of Burgundy. Each bottling still has the DNA of a Dancer wine- energetic, chiseled, and mineral- but through a different lens. The Pinot Gris, from organically farmed fruit in Alsace, will change the way you feel about the grape- it’s Burgundy by way of Alsace. The quantities on the Pinot Gris, along with the Aligote, Chardonnay, Gringet, Savagnin, and Gamay are small and will be sold out almost immediately, but seek these wines out at stores and restaurants- you’ll be glad you did.

A delightful visit with Pierre-Henri Rougeot and @pariswineco, starting in the morning with hot coffee in Meursault Charmes 💆🏼, talking about PH’s farming changes and vineyard management style. This domaine is such a rocket: great vineyard holdings, restrained and highly attentive cellar work, with many cuvées ending up sulfur-free when the fruit and barrels are right. The work here is expressive, clear, and the wines still feel traditional in their way, too. We’re so impressed with the work that PH has clearly put in over the years and we can’t wait to see what the next vintages hold. The farming is fully biodynamic as of this year, too! Merci beaucoup, @domainerougeot 💛

We had a few great visits with @pariswineco earlie
We had a few great visits with @pariswineco earlier this month, checking in on our Burgundian growers. We were very happy to taste with Théo Dancer in his cellar in Chassagne, who’s exploring changes at the domaine in certain dimensions of viticulture, aiming for higher and higher quality of fruit while maintaining the house style of each of the Dancer vineyard sites. Longer élevage is a goal here too overall, along with exploration of new terroirs through Théo’s side projects. Thanks for taking a moment with us in the cellar, @theodancerr, we’re proud to represent your work in NY.
